Lea’s Suitcase

“I’ve Got The Conch” is prolly one of my favorite lines form the book, Lord Of The Flies. Ooo 6th grade required reading. Anyways, a quick snap shot of what I pass every day to and from work in the Bahamas; not a bad sight at all. Something about the old wreckage makes me want to explore more and beyond… I’ll just have to settle for Conch Ceviche right now.

It’s been a while since I posted something about the color Orange. I don’t know why more people don’t wear Orange and Black… perhaps its too Halloween like here in the States. However, in Europe, it’s commonly seen. Here is some inspiration. Add a splash of Purple as a 3rd color for additonal dimension. Usually when I travel/pack my Suitcase, I stick to a color palette so it’s all interchangable. Compliments of Polyvore.com

Later this month, I get to see my family in Greece… it’s been almost 2 years. Back in the day, it was hard while in Grad School and working at the same time to set across the globe. Mostly what I am excited about is the fashion. Greece is my secret little jem… having influcences from Italy and amazing Turkish leather. I cannot wait to see what treasures I find, aside from spending time with family and cooking with my Aunts. PS, Greek boys were wearing Harem Pants before you…aka: Vrakes

Just cause i’m obsessed with what MJ has done for LV, here is a good cause over the month of November, 10% of proceedes from these 4 bags goes to the Red Cross. Early Xmas shopping perhaps if you are willing to splurge. I think the Noe is calling my name.

Gypsy Garden is the perfect name for what’s going on here. It didn’t take me long to think of this name. I’ve had a few gardens in my time but, this was definitly the most fun to make since Huy and I put alot of love into it. I wish I had taken a before and after of when we first planted everything… from scratch. Actually, some of the plants were dwarfs and the others seeds. Upon my hiatus from the Bahamas, I had made a map with specific instructions on when to water and give the plants food… my babies have grown so much in the 3 weeks I was gone from them. Unfortunatlly, I only lost 1 plant… my precious Strawberry. I am not quite sure what happened, but I will get another this weekend and give it lots of care. Needless to say, last night I enjoyed the Radishes in my salad… lovely spicey/peppery flavor.

I know I’m a little late on this but i’m super busy… Enjoy

What were you for Halloween?

MIA airport has a real neat little dog park upon exiting the airport, white pickett fence and all. Along with that, they have Mutt Mitts. Literally pet peeve of mine is people who have pets who don’t clean up after them. All in all, after a flight, Lexi loves coming here to sniff around and play with the other traveling pups.

My old time friends at Vans are still outputting amazing product so it was great to be invited to the Fred Segal x Conveyor event. If you are ever in Santa Monica, check it out.






Even though I don’t work for Vans anymore, whenever I see my friends, it still feels like family; having fun, cracking jokes and making you feel warm inside. I am happy to see them continue to create amazing product.

Last night we were invited to a Halloween party in the Hills. Put it this way, you had to sign a release form for whatever was going on…thats a whole other post. So, since it was a Vampire theamed party, I went as Maryann Forrester (yup, never watched an episode of True Blood). Total costume was inspired by Huy and photo was taken by him too.
