It was early January 2004 an experience changed my life, the Full collection of Elsa Schiaparelli in Philadelphia Museum of Art; right in front of me. I stood there for hours, from room to room, soaking in all this woman had to offer to the fashion world. I have always been a fan of Chanel and Schiaparelli…arch rivals. Alot of people ask me where I get my inspiration from and it really is from History books. Elsa once quoted, “In difficult times fashion is always outrageous.” Its so true. I do read the occasional blog and fashion magazine to see what inspires other people too. Fashion mimics our environment and what is happening in the world..thats what I take from it. Anyways, if you need a good read, SHOCKING will take you places. Back in 2004, the book cost $50 and well worth every page.

How appropriate is that I write about Greek Yogurt while in Greece. I grew up on this stuff and continue to eat it as a snack as an adult. My Papou used to make me and my sister fresh yogurt every week, out of the contraption below. We would put fresh honey or sugar to sweeten it up. Apparently, if you are lucky enough you can find them at thrift stores for $4 and under.

These are also some of the other Greek Yogurt’s sold in the States as well as in Greece. However, you can walk to the local store and get the “homemade” stuff too. Sometimes they even put honey in the container for you to take home. My favorite is FAGE (which means “to eat” in Greek)

Chicago, you’ve been good to me once again. Great seeing old friends and making new ones… you all know who you are. I always say this but it is appropriate, “Good People Attract Good People”. I am truely thankful for all the beautiful people in my life. 2009 has been a good one.
A scene from FRIENDSGIVING the other night…

Also, stop by RSVP Gallery and say HI to my girl, Chicago’s finest, Alicia

How is the weather where you are? Here in Grand Bahamas is still what I like to call “boob sweat”. Late this afternoon, I went exploring. Ok, not so much… just went out front and took some quick snapshots with my Panasonic
DMC-TS1 (underwater HD Lumix). I didn’t get totally submerged but, had fun frolicking in the waves and sand. More to come soon.

If you haven’t already seen, heard of the new HERMES x LEICA camera coming out soon….ouf! I’m completely star struck once again. I feel like this is the collab of the year if you could combine mine and Huy’s 2 loves…our love child. Who doesn’t have respect for Hermes…172 years in the business and counting.

$14k and it’s all yours. Only 100 are being made in 2 colors.

A small project I started a few months ago (this past summer) that I am in dyer need to finish. Offices bore me so I am spray painting my file cabinet Wasabi Green and, I got some hardware from Anthropologie for $50. Here is some inspiration below. Upon my return to Florida, this is on top of my list. Along with cleaning out my storage unit of Vans samples.

If you are visiting the LA area, stop by Golden State Cafe for a life changing Root Beer float experience. I am writing about this because I want one right now. What it is, is Gelato… you can pick from diffrent flavors but my favorite combo is Vanilla but it has crunchy grapenuts in it. The “Beer” is Root beer on Draft. However, you can get “real” beer also if you choose. I try and get The Sir to walk downstairs with me everyday to get one.

“I’ve Got The Conch” is prolly one of my favorite lines from the book, Lord Of The Flies. Ooo 6th grade required reading. Anyways, a quick snap shot of what I pass every day to and from work in the Bahamas; not a bad sight at all. Something about the old wreckage makes me want to explore more and beyond… I’ll just have to settle for Conch Ceviche right now.
